BluePearl Pet Hospital in Nashville, TN is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced I nternal M edicine department. As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will serve as a liaison between our internists and clients regarding histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics.

You will assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, and take X-rays and lab samples, with strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills

Qualifications

• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
• Experience with endoscopy, ultrasound, and radiology procedures.
• Able to communicate client histories and labs with veterinarians.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI) and monitor anesthesia.
• Calculate medical math including CRI, mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Discharge IM patients with basic client education.

Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Nashville, TN is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced I nternal M edicine department.

As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays , and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required .

As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will...

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc. ).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure .
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additional job duties as assigned.
