Wichita Public Schools is seeking an Internal Communications Specialist to develop and deliver internal communication strategies that connect employees to district priorities and goals.

You will create engaging messages for newsletters, intranet content, talking points and presentations, while ensuring consistency across channels and building employee engagement. Travel within the district and crisis communications support may be required.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or related field desired, though other educational backgrounds considered if experience and proven skill set is demonstrated.
• Extensive knowledge of internal communication, message development, content management systems, and monitoring and analytics tools.
• Proven research and writing skills.
• Basic knowledge in graphic design and video production are preferred, but not required.

Responsabilidades

• Translate organizational priorities into employee-centered messaging that supports understanding, trust and alignment.
• Enhance internal communication tools, such as the Wichita Public Schools intranet, to align with employee needs.
• Develop engaging communication for internal platforms, including newsletters, intranet content, talking points and presentations.
• Ensure messaging is consistent, accessible, and aligned across all internal channels.
• Evaluate effectiveness of internal communication tools and messaging and make recommendations on improvement.
• Develop tools for and support internal feedback opportunities and incorporate employee insights into planning.
• Collaborate on communication campaigns, engagement programs and events; maintain master content calendar.
• Attend district and community events; assist with crisis communication as needed.
