Job summary

Barnhart is seeking an Internal Communications & Media Manager to connect teams through clear, engaging communication. You will manage channels, craft multimedia content, and partner with leaders to keep employees informed and aligned with our mission and values.

Based in Memphis, TN, this role requires 5–8+ years in internal communications, experience with multi-location teams, and a proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and measured improvements through data-driven approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
• 5–8+ years in internal communications or a related field; multi-location experience preferred.
• Experience managing communication channels and media platforms.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and supporting leadership communications.
• Strong writing and editing skills; solid organization and project management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines; strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
• Comfort working with multimedia content and creative partners; data-driven improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Communication Strategy & Execution: Support and execute internal communication plans aligned with business priorities; identify gaps and implement solutions; maintain consistent messaging and standards.
• Content & Channel Management: Manage intranet, email, digital signage, and video; create clear, engaging content; coordinate messaging across teams; collaborate with media resources on video/content.
• Executive & Leadership Support: Draft and edit leadership communications; help cascade information; ensure timely, clear messaging; assist with crisis communication planning.
• Employee Engagement & Partnership: Work with HR, Operations, IT and others; build relationships across branches and departments; support engagement and culture initiatives.
• Operational Excellence & Improvement: Execute recurring tasks and rhythms; track engagement metrics; use data/feedback to improve efforts.

Education
