Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Communications Intern to join the Water Solutions & Services team in Pittsburgh, with a hybrid schedule for one semester.

The Role

Are you a strong writer, storyteller, or digital content creator looking to gain real‑world experience with a global organization? As a Communications Intern, you'll join the Water Solutions & Services (WSS) Communications team and gain hands‑on experience creating content, supporting employee engagement, analyzing communication performance, and improving the digital employee experience. You'll own meaningful projects, collaborate with experienced communications professionals, and build a portfolio of work that makes an impact across a global workforce.

What You'll Work On

• Featured Project: Digital Employee Experience & AI Readiness
  • Audit and evaluate internal SharePoint content
  • Identify outdated or duplicate content and recommend improvements
  • Partner with content owners across the business
  • Improve navigation, content organization, and employee experience
  • Analyze site usage and engagement trends
  • Support initiatives that make content more discoverable for AI‑powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot
• Featured Project: Frontline Storytelling & Employee Engagement (AQUA pros)
  • Develop AQUA pro stories
  • Interview service technicians and field leaders
  • Create newsletter and Viva Engage content
  • Support frontline-focused campaigns

What You'll Bring

• Pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, Business, Organizational Communication, or related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Interest in employee communications, storytelling, digital content, and analytics
• Experience with Microsoft 365 applications preferred
