Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in operations, internal communications, employee engagement, project management, event management, or program administration.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.

The Internal Communications & Engagement Manager leads the day-to-day operations and execution of the Internal Marketing & Communications department, ensuring programs, initiatives, events, and communications are delivered with excellence. This role oversees employee engagement programs, corporate events, community initiatives, vendor partnerships, project management, budgets, and departmental operations while serving as a key connector across the organization. The Manager translates strategic direction into actionable plans, coordinates cross-functional teams, manages timelines, and ensures seamless execution that enhances the employee experience and strengthens organizational culture. As the department's operational leader, this position serves as the Director's primary partner, helping manage departmental priorities, workflows, and execution. While the Director focuses on executive partnerships, organizational strategy, culture transformation, and developing enterprise-wide programs and initiatives, the Manager ensures those strategies are implemented through operational excellence, accountability, and collaboration. This role provides operational insight, identifies continuous improvement opportunities, and helps ensure the department functions efficiently while delivering measurable business impact.

Department Operations & Project Management
  • Lead the day-to-day operations, ensuring projects are prioritized, executed on time, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Own the department's project management platform (Asana), maintaining project plans, timelines, assignments, dependencies, and team workloads while ensuring accountability across the department.
  • Translate strategic initiatives into detailed execution plans and coordinate implementation across the team.
  • Monitor department capacity, identify operational risks or bottlenecks, and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop, document, and maintain department standard operating procedures, workflows, and operational processes.
  • Assist the Director in managing departmental priorities, annual planning, reporting, and operational performance.
Internal Communications & Brand Operations
  • Manage day-to-day administration of the EAS Connect employee app, including employee permissions, audience management, notifications, and user maintenance.
  • Ensure brand standards are consistently applied across the organization, including internal communications, digital channels, presentations, templates, and facility collateral.
  • Coordinate the production and distribution of printed materials, signage, posters, flyers, presentations, and branded resources across all company locations.
  • Assist with internal communication content creation, proofreading, scheduling, and publication.
Employee Engagement Operations
  • Lead the operational planning and execution of employee engagement initiatives that strengthen culture and improve the employee experience.
  • Manage employee recognition programs, including milestone celebrations, anniversary gifts, recognition mailings, and reward fulfillment.
  • Administer the Company Store platform, including reward code management, employee gift cards, inventory tracking, and order fulfillment.
  • Maintain inventory of promotional items, recognition materials, event supplies, recruiting materials, and engagement resources across all facilities.
  • Coordinate recurring employee engagement activities including food trucks, Coffee with Colleagues, appreciation events, wellness initiatives, and other employee programs.
  • Maintain the annual employee engagement calendar and coordinate logistics across multiple business units and locations.
Event Planning & Execution
  • Lead the operational planning, logistics, and execution of company meetings, leadership events, employee celebrations, recruiting events, family events, and executive functions.
  • Develop project timelines, coordinate vendors, manage budgets, and oversee logistics to ensure successful event execution.
  • Source vendors, negotiate pricing, obtain quotes, manage contracts, and coordinate event schedules.
  • Coordinate transportation, setup, breakdown, signage, equipment, rentals, catering, and event materials.
  • Manage event supply inventories and maintain organized storage systems that support efficient event deployment.
  • Coordinate with photographers, videographers, and the Digital Media Coordinator to ensure event coverage aligns with departmental goals.
Community Engagement & Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Lead the operational execution of corporate community engagement initiatives, volunteer events, charitable partnerships, and outreach programs.
  • Coordinate logistics for community partnerships including Habitat for Humanity, Roc Solid Foundation, blood drives, educational partnerships, and future community initiatives.
  • Maintain the annual community engagement calendar and coordinate volunteer schedules, communications, registrations, and event logistics.
  • Manage community event materials, promotional items, volunteer communications, and operational support.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to strengthen community engagement while supporting organizational brand awareness.
Financial & Vendor Administration
  • Monitor departmental operating expenses, budgets, invoices, and purchasing activities.
  • Process departmental expenditures, reconcile corporate credit card transactions, code invoices, and ensure accurate allocation across business units.
  • Maintain expense tracking reports and operational dashboards for departmental reporting.
  • Manage vendor relationships, service agreements, shipping coordination, print vendors, promotional suppliers, and event partners.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve departmental processes, workflows, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain organized department documentation, inventory systems, calendars, and operational records.
  • Track departmental metrics and provide project status updates and operational reporting to the Director.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, communication effectiveness, and department performance.
  • Serve as a trusted operational resource for internal stakeholders while delivering exceptional customer service across the organization.
Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Five or more years of experience in operations, internal communications, employee engagement, project management, event management, or program administration.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives and working with senior leadership preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Calendar).
  • Experience using project management platforms such as Asana.
  • Strong spreadsheet, reporting, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with employee communication platforms and content management systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with Canva or similar design software.
