Job summary

The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking an Auditor II (underfilling an Auditor III) in Carson City to act as the internal auditor for the DMV. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and conducting examinations of accounts to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and contracts, and to document findings with recommendations to improve controls.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree with one year of professional auditing or accounting experience, or an equivalent

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with one year of professional auditing or accounting experience, or equivalent.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• One year of Auditor I experience in Nevada State service or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct examinations of accounts and records to ensure compliance with laws, rules, and policies.
• Review financial/tax accounts and documentation to determine compliance and investigate past activities.
• Document findings and prepare reports with recommendations to improve controls and standardize practices.
• Conduct entrance/exit interviews and monitor implementation of audit recommendations.
• Perform special investigations in areas deemed at risk and investigate fraudulent activity.
