Job summary

NC Department of Transportation is seeking a DMV Program Accountability Auditor. The role audits DMV offices, LPAs, DLOs, and online dealers to ensure compliance with state laws and policies. Travel statewide and sometimes overnight.

The successful candidate will analyze funds, deposits, internal controls, and reporting, with strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments with travel.
• Experience in auditing or regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, coordinate, and complete audits statewide.
• Review funds, deposits, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Prepare clear audit reports for management review.
• May conduct investigations into missing funds or misconduct.
• May testify in court regarding audit findings when required.
