Job summary

The State of Nevada, Department of Motor Vehicles, seeks an Auditor 2 (underfilling an Auditor 3) in Carson City. The incumbent serves as the internal auditor for the DMV, planning and conducting examinations of accounts to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and contracts.

The role requires documenting findings and recommending improved controls. Responsibilities include auditing in accordance with established government auditing standards, preparing reports and work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year of professional level auditing or accounting experience.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent and three years of professional auditing or accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Research past audit history and develop audit steps per approved program.
• Review financial and tax accounts, documents, and interview personnel to ensure compliance with laws and contracts.
• Conduct audits per generally accepted government auditing standards and report findings with recommendations.
• Document findings and prepare work papers and reports to summarize audit results and recommendations.
• Conduct entrance and exit interviews to explain audit scope and findings.
