Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a proactive candidate to assist Safety & Loss Control Consultants with loss analysis, hazard assessment, and reporting. You will help prepare findings, accompany on-site visits, review reports, and help develop corrective recommendations to reduce workplace hazards.

The role emphasizes data compilation, OSHA/MSHA knowledge, and clear written and verbal communication. Candidates should be detail-oriented and enrolled in a safety/industrial hygiene/engineering program.

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least 60 credit hours with an accredited college or university.
• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or related field.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft applications.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Knowledge of Federal OSHA and MSHA standards.
• Ability to compile, analyze, and report on findings.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of safety rules, regulations, and standards.
• Must reside and work within one of Encova Insurance's eligible U.S. states.

Responsibilities

• Assist Safety & Loss Control Consultants with loss analysis and research before on-site occupational safety and loss prevention surveys.
• Assess policyholders' safety efforts and detect occupational safety hazards.
• Help prepare reports of findings and recommendations to correct workplace hazards and safety program needs.
• Recognize conditions or exposures requiring industrial hygiene and/or ergonomic evaluation.
• Participate in management training programs.
• Research literature, laws, standards, and technical developments in workplace safety.
• Run loss reports and research policyholder history.
• Review previous safety and loss control reports.
• Accompany Consultants on job-site visits and assist with identifying loss hazards.
• Prepare safety and loss control reports with recommendations to reduce losses.
• Analyze loss runs for accident and injury patterns.
• Assist in developing cost-effective methods to correct hazardous conditions.
• Assist with PowerPoint presentations for training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
