Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead divisional and location safety leaders within the market.

  • Execute proactive injury-reduction initiatives using third-party resources.
  • Monitor and track location safety committee progress and goals.
  • Manage and distribute market location 300 Logs
  • Work closely with Risk Management on incident investigations.
  • Comply with company policies and standards, workplace safety commitments, and assigned training requirements.

Job description

Requirements
  • 3+ years in a management position responsible for leading others
  • 3+ years of experience in a safety, environmental or health role with progressive responsibility
  • Prior OSHA Compliance experience required
  • Prior experience applying environmental, health, and/or safety in the building materials industry a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and LEAN concepts
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations
  • Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision
  • Strong demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and self-initiative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sustainable organizational change
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence across diverse groups
  • Demonstrated strategic and tactical thinking
  • Good technical understanding of Safety, Health, and Environmental issues in relation to production/engineering and building prevention

  • Ability to achieve results through dotted-line reporting
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including hard hat, vests, gloves, footwear, and infrequently masks
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and other safety, health, and environmental certifications are beneficial
  • Ability to travel 40% for operational audits, inspections, and company functions
