Qualifications

Job description

• Assist the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager with planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs.
• Assist with maintaining OSHA and EPA compliance with corporate mandates.
• Plan and organize training; conduct training; maintain training documentation and certifications.
• Assist with EHS program implementation and use of EHS compliance applications.
• Assist with accident investigations, company reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Focus on incident reduction and improving incident rates.
• Identify and evaluate hazardous workplace conditions.
• Conduct and coordinate daily rounds to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
• Advise and counsel employees, visitors, and contractors regarding compliance regulations.
• Oversee regulatory inspections, including fire extinguishers, eyewash and shower stations, area inspections, egress, exit signs, and environmental programs.
• Conduct safety and hazardous material inspections and maintain inspection documentation and verifications.
• Assist with environmental compliance reports, sampling, and inspection mandates.
• Maintain and execute site awareness and incentive programs, corrective actions, and sustainability and utility reduction project tracking.
• Assist with maintaining the Safety Committee.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Work closely with plant supervisors and employees.

Requirements

  • Associate-degree or equivalent, required.
  • A minimum of one year of EHS experience, preferred.
  • Proficient in training methodologies and curriculum development.
  • Strong organizational, planning, project management, problem resolution, communication, presentation, facilitation, and motivational skills required.
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • High energy, enthusiastic, motivational training style.
  • Computer literate with in-depth knowledge of MS Office, web-based systems, and visual aids technology.
  • Ability to perform required physical tasks, including intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.
  • Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Willingness to work typical 8–12 hour shifts, including possible unscheduled after-hours and weekend time.
