Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a driven student for the Oncology Research and Development Internship in Durham, NC. This 11-week, full-time program (June 1, 2027–August 13, 2027) focuses on developing or improving an oncology-focused sequencing assay and involves learning clinical testing processes and NGS techniques with a dedicated team.

Eligibility targets rising juniors and seniors; 3–6 months NGS exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Biology, Chemistry, Genetics or Biological Science.
  • 3–6 months experience with Next Generation Sequencing technologies preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in a cell or molecular biology-based laboratory.
  • Interest in the clinical testing or molecular research fields.

The Labcorp Oncology Research and Development Department develops and validates new Oncology clinical test across the Labcorp Enterprise. This internship will work with the team in San Diego, California on developing or further improving an Oncology-focused assay or testing capability.

Internship Details
  • Duration: 11 weeks, full-time
  • Dates of Internship: June 1, 2027-August 13, 2027
  • Location: Durham, NC
  • Compensation: Paid internship
  • Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2027 through June 2029 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply
