Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Noninvasive Prenatal Diagnostics Intern to join our Research and Development Team in San Diego, CA. This 11-week, paid internship offers hands-on project work and exposure to Labcorp’s global capabilities in cell-free DNA and prenatal testing.

Eligibility includes current enrollment in a relevant Bachelor's program; preferred juniors/seniors through 2027-2029 graduation. Compensation is hourly; dates June 1, 2027 to August 13, 2027, with relocation assistance available for

  • Develop cutting edge noninvasive prenatal diagnostic tests.
  • Become familiar with statistical programs to analyze and visualize data.
  • Extract valuable insights for informed decision making.
  • Develop a wide variety of technical skills, potentially including multiplex PCR, digital PCR, mass spectrometry, short and/or long-read sequencing.

Labcorp is seeking a Noninvasive Prenatal Diagnostics Intern to join our Research and Development Team located in San Diego, CA!

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday / 40hrs per week

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop cutting edge noninvasive prenatal diagnostic tests.
  • Become familiar with statistical programs to analyze and visualize data.
  • Extract valuable insights for informed decision making.
  • Develop a wide variety of technical skills, potentially including multiplex PCR, digital PCR, mass spectrometry, short and/or long-read sequencing.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Systems Biology, Biochemistry or Biomedical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-6 months experience working with nucleic acids, proteins, and PCR
  • 3-6 months experience and/or knowledge of next-generation sequencing technology

About the Team

The Labcorp Diagnostics Research and Development team focusses on developing and improving laboratory tests for various diagnostic purposes such as oncology, genetics, and infectious disease. The team at the Labcorp-Sequenom site in San Diego primarily works with cell-free DNA for non-invasive prenatal screening. You will have the opportunity to work under the supervision of the R&D team and closely with the clinical lab.

Internship Details
  • Duration: 11 weeks, full‑time
  • Dates of Internship: June 1, 2027-August 13, 2027
  • Compensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
  • Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2027 through June 2029 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Application Window: 9/11/26 - 10/12-26 Pay Range: $17.75-$20.00/hr All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
