Job summary

Ventura Coastal, LLC is seeking an Intern Recruiter to join our HR team in Tipton, CA. This hands-on role offers exposure to candidate sourcing, screening, and interview coordination in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You’ll work with our Talent Acquisition team to learn recruiting processes, applicant tracking, and onboarding activities while gaining experience across hourly and professional positions. This paid internship provides practical HR experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed degree in HR, business, or related field.
• Interest in HR, recruiting, or Talent Acquisition.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Basic proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel between Visalia and Tipton facilities.

Responsibilities

• Source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and community resources.
• Review resumes and applications based on established qualifications.
• Conduct initial phone screens using established questions.
• Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
• Maintain candidate information in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
• Create, post, update, and monitor job advertisements.
• Assist with career fairs and recruiting events.
• Assist with tracking recruitment metrics and preparing reports.

You’ll gain exposure to candidate sourcing, resume review, phone screenings, interview coordination, recruiting events, applicant tracking systems, and more.

What You’ll Learn & Do

As a Intern Recruiter , you will assist our Talent Acquisition team with a variety of recruiting activities, including:

• Source candidates through job boards, social media, employee referrals, community resources, and other recruiting channels.
• Review resumes and applications based on established job qualifications.
• Conduct initial candidate phone screens using established interview questions and guidelines.
• Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
• Communicate with candidates throughout the recruitment process and help provide a positive candidate experience.
• Create, post, update, and monitor job advertisements.
• Assist with career fairs, hiring events, job fairs, and community outreach.
• Maintain candidate information and recruitment activity in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
• Assist with tracking recruitment metrics and preparing reports.
• Support offer, pre‑employment, and onboarding activities.
• Help create recruiting materials and candidate communications.
• Participate in HR and Talent Acquisition projects focused on improving recruiting processes, sourcing strategies, and the candidate experience.
• Gain exposure to recruiting for hourly, skilled‑trades, technical, and professional positions.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
• Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources, recruiting, or Talent Acquisition.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Friendly and professional when interacting with candidates, employees, and managers.
• Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable learning new systems and technology.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel between our Visalia and Tipton facilities as needed.

Even Better If You Have

• Previous internship, administrative, customer service, HR, or recruiting experience.
• Familiarity with Paycom or another HRIS/Applicant Tracking System.
• Experience with LinkedIn, Indeed, or other recruiting platforms.
• Interest in manufacturing or high‑volume recruiting.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills.

Compensation & Benefits

• $19.00 per hour
• This is a temporary internship position and is not eligible for Company-sponsored benefits.
• Interns are eligible for California paid sick leave in accordance with applicable law.
