Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) invites undergraduates and graduates in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science to join our Engagement Optimization Group as interns.

You'll model, simulate, and analyze missile defense systems, develop high-fidelity software models, and collaborate to identify gaps and innovative concepts for national security challenges, while gaining exposure to DoD-like projects and a culture of continual improvement.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or graduate degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science with a strong GPA or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience programming in MATLAB, Python, C++, or another high-level language.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to development and assessment of Missile Defense systems.
  • Model, analyze, and assess fielded systems to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate to develop innovative concepts and algorithms and support high-quality outputs.
