The Hanover Insurance Group invites students to join a 10-week Summer Internship in our Claims Medical Strategy team, tackling real projects and building analytics tools that drive growth and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
  • Ability to commit to a full time 10-week internship program.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Medical Strategy Business Analyst group within our Claims Department.
  • Use analytical skills to develop and enhance proprietary business tools for optimization.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data to meet customer needs.
  • Assist in developing tools, processes and reporting analytics for business growth.
  • Communicate with customers, external partners and internal departments.
  • Develop data and reports for field and customers to articulate value to agent partners and customers.
  • Provide accurate analytical support to the team and ensure results are validated.
  • Summarize information and communicate analyses in writing and verbally to internal partners.
  • Assist in various projects, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Create and present a final presentation for management at the close of the internship.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

The Hanover’s Internship Program provides college students with the opportunity to work on a variety of critical business assignments, test your skills, use your academic knowledge, and match your interests to a real job. Through the 10-week summer program (June – mid August), You will:

  • Take on meaningful projects and work alongside some of the very best talent in the industry
  • Be supported and mentored by a community of exceptional talent (leaders, managers, subject matter experts and recent graduates)
  • Participate in a cross-functional team building project focused on corporate philanthropy
  • Attend weekly development workshops with your intern peers
  • Join in engagement and social activities with other interns

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL
  • Support the Medical Strategy Business Analyst group within our Claims Department
  • Use analytical skills to the development and enhancement of unique propriety business tools that drive optimization and consolidation of agent partners business
  • Collect, analyze, and report data to meet customer needs
  • Assists in the developing tools, processes and reporting analytics in support of business growth and needs
  • Communicate with customers, external partners and internal departments frequently
  • Develop data and reports for field and customers to articulate value to agent partners and customers
  • Provide accurate analytical support to team supported ensuring results are validated and accurate
  • Summarize information and effectively communicate analyses in writing and verbally to internal partners
  • Assist in various projects, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ever-changing and evolving business environment
  • Create and present a final presentation for management and leadership members at the close of the internship program highlighting the work you accomplished throughout the summer
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
  • Ability to commit to a full time 10-week internship program
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
  • Marketing, sales, or customer service background preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity and analytical skills
  • Thinks critically and anticipates, recognizes, identifies, and develops solutions

Compensation

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards. The posted range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
