LJA is offering an internship in Marketing to support our Florida team with hands-on experience in AEC marketing, proposal development, and business development support. You will help tell the stories behind architecture, engineering and construction projects, turning technical details into clear materials that win work.

The role emphasizes developing skills in content creation, editing, and collaboration with technical and marketing staff.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams; familiarity with InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading; detail-oriented and organized.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines; collaborative.

• Assist pursuit efforts with proposals and marketing leads to plan, develop and produce qualifications and client materials.
• Help keep marketing content sharp and easy to find, including resumes, project descriptions and boilerplate language.
• Check spelling, grammar, clarity, brand alignment and solicitation compliance.
• Create visuals for proposals, presentations, and brochures using graphics and layouts.
• Keep databases, libraries and templates organized for quick content retrieval under tight deadlines.
• Scout procurement opportunities through online portals and industry sources.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As an Intern at LJA Marketing, you will be responsible for supporting our growing Florida team while gaining hands-on experience in AEC marketing, proposal development and business development support. Our marketing team helps tell the stories behind meaningful architecture, engineering and construction projects, turning technical expertise into clear, compelling materials that help our teams win work

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Assisting pursuit efforts with proposal and marketing leads to help plan, develop and produce qualifications, proposals, interview materials and other client-facing deliverables.
• Helping keep our marketing content sharp, current and easy to find, including staff resumes, project descriptions, fact sheets, firm profiles, boilerplate language and pursuit-related collateral.
• Putting fresh eyes on materials to check spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, brand alignment and compliance with solicitation requirements.
• Bringing ideas to life through graphics, layouts, templates and visuals for proposals, presentations, brochures and other marketing materials.
• Keeping marketing databases, libraries and templates organized so the team can quickly find the right content when deadlines are moving fast.
• Scouting procurement opportunities through online portals, agency websites and industry sources to help the team stay ahead of what’s next.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams, with familiarity in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat and Photoshop.
• A knack for writing, editing, proofreading and staying organized, with an eye for the little details that make a big difference.
• The ability to juggle multiple assignments, meet deadlines and shift gears when priorities change.
• Curiosity, initiative and a positive attitude, plus a willingness to collaborate with technical teams, marketing staff and other contributors.

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

• Previous internship, coursework or project experience related to the AEC industry, professional services marketing, proposal development, graphic design or business development support.
• Experience with Adobe InDesign, Canva, CRM databases, social media content, event support, photography or visual storytelling.
