Gulf Coast Bank & Trust invites candidates to join its Summer Internship Program in Metairie, LA. The program runs from May 17 to July 23, with potential extension and a Final Internship Presentation in New Orleans on July 22.

Interns will work with loan services and loan documentation staff, gaining experience across loan documentation, post-closing reviews, and data projects. Requirements include a 3.0+ GPA, pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree (business or law majors preferred), and

• Assist with preparing loan documents, post-closing reviews, quality control, collateral releases and servicing the loan portfolio.
• Help format established procedures for loan documentation.
• Verify loans and learn the production of loan documents.
• Assemble original loan documentation packages for scanning and storage.
• Pull post-closing collateral release documentation.
• Participate in data review and input for real estate property tax project.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

This full-time position is part of GCB's Summer Internship Program, which is scheduled to run from Monday, May 17th through Friday, July 23rd, potentially extending through mid-August based on the decision of the hiring manager and department. Additionally, interns must participate in a Final Internship Presentation located in New Orleans on Thursday, July 22nd. Candidates must be available for the full duration of the program to ensure a consistent and meaningful learning experience. The Intern will work closely with loan services personnel and loan documentation specialists within the department.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing loan documents, post-closing reviews, quality control, collateral releases and servicing the loan portfolio for the bank.
• Assist in formatting the established procedures for loan documentation.
• Verify loans and learn about the production of loan documents.
• Assembling original loan documentations packages for scanning and storage.
• Pull post-closing collateral release documentation.
• Participate in data review and input for real estate property tax project.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience/Education

• Minimum preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required.
• Business or law majors (or similar) preferred.
• An interest in real estate is preferred.
• Be a highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Possesses strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.
