Job summary

Gulf Coast Bank & Trust is offering a Summer Internship Program for the Mortgage Intern role in Metairie, LA. The program runs May 17 through July 23, with a possible extension to mid-August at the hiring manager’s discretion.

Interns will support loan closings and work with mortgage originators and external partners. Candidates must commit to the full duration, be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, and demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• GPA of 3.0 or higher required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in secondary marketing meetings with mortgage investors, aggregators, Mortgage Insurance companies, vendors, etc.
• Collaborate with Digital Marketing to develop content.
• Attend local Mortgage and Realtor functions.
• Work with Retail and other departments to understand the bank’s operations.
• Adhere to established quality and service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

This full-time position is part of GCB's Summer Internship Program, which is scheduled to run from Monday, May 17th through Friday, July 23rd, potentially extending through mid-August based on the decision of the hiring manager and department. Additionally, interns must participate in a Final Internship Presentation located in New Orleans on Thursday, July 22nd. Candidates must be available for the full duration of the program to ensure a consistent and meaningful learning experience. The Intern - Mortgage will work closely with mortgage loan originators within the department and requisite outside parties to ensure timely loan closing for the bank's mortgage customers.
