Job summary

Bot Auto in Houston, TX, is seeking an IT Specialist Intern to join our corporate IT team. You will gain hands-on experience across onboarding/offboarding, asset management, and frontline support while building exposure to enterprise tooling, monitoring, and automation.

You will work alongside engineers who mentor you on real infrastructure in a fast-moving environment. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and ready to take ownership of tasks that directly support the team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in IT, computer science, or a related field - or equivalent self-taught/certification path (A+, Network+)
• Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows and macOS) and common productivity tools
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable helping non-technical users
• Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed

Responsibilities

• Execute user onboarding and offboarding workflows, including provisioning and access removal
• Manage IT asset inventory, track laptops and peripherals throughout lifecycles
• Image, deploy, and prepare laptops and workstations for new hires and replacements
• Maintain stock of IT supplies and coordinate reorders
• Respond to help desk tickets and provide frontline support for common hardware, software, and access issues
• Assist with monitoring and alerting - triage alerts, elevate issues, and help maintain dashboards
• Support patching and software deployment tasks under engineer guidance
• Maintain and improve IT documentation - runbooks, how-to guides, and inventory records
• Assist with office IT logistics: conference room AV, desk setups, and equipment moves

About The Role

We are seeking a motivated IT Specialist Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience across corporate IT operations. This role focuses on the day-to-day work that keeps IT running - user onboarding and offboarding, asset management, and frontline support - while building exposure to enterprise tooling, monitoring, and automation. You will work alongside experienced engineers who will mentor you on real infrastructure in a fast-moving environment. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and ready to take ownership of tasks that directly support the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage IT asset inventory - track, tag, and audit laptops, peripherals, and equipment throughout their lifecycle
• Image, deploy, and prepare laptops and workstations for new hires and replacements
• Maintain stock of IT supplies and peripherals; monitor levels and coordinate reorders
• Respond to help desk tickets and provide frontline support for common hardware, software, and access issues
