Job summary

FAIRWINDS Credit Union in Orlando is offering an IT Desktop Technician Intern role to gain hands-on experience supporting front-line IT services in a professional environment. This in-office internship is 20 hours per week, begins January 11, 2026, and pays $15 per hour.

You will assist with setup, imaging, and deployment of laptops and peripherals; troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues; support onboarding and offboarding; document tickets; and help maintain IT inventory.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an IT-related degree or certificate program.
• Basic Windows knowledge and common applications.
• Interest in hardware, troubleshooting and customer support.
• Strong communication and service-minded attitude.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic desktop and end-user support under guidance.
• Assist with setup, imaging, and deployment of laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot common hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues.
• Support onboarding and offboarding by preparing equipment.
• Assist with ticket documentation and tracking in an ITSM system.
• Help maintain IT inventory and asset records.
• Shadow IT team members to learn troubleshooting techniques.
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge base updates.

This is a 20-hour per week, in-office internship opportunity that beings January 11th, 2026 and offers $15 per hour in compensation. We also offer flexible schedules to accommodate your school schedule, as well!

Your Role in Our Mission:

• Provide basic desktop and end‑user support under the guidance of experienced IT professionals
• Assist with setup, imaging, and deployment of laptops, desktops, and peripherals
• Troubleshoot common hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding by preparing and collecting equipment
• Assist with ticket documentation and tracking in an IT service management system
• Help maintain IT inventory and asset records
• Shadow IT team members to learn troubleshooting techniques and best practices
• Contribute to basic documentation and knowledge base updates
