Job summary

Church Mutual is offering a 12-week Application Security Intern program designed to give hands-on experience supporting cybersecurity within the software development lifecycle. You will work with security professionals and developers to identify, assess, and reduce application security risks.

Responsibilities include assisting with assessments, vulnerability management, and remediation tracking, while researching threats and promoting secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, etc.).
• Basic understanding of software development and web applications.
• Interest in cybersecurity and application security.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
• Preferred candidates entering Junior or Senior year in Fall 2027.

Here's What We Expect

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, etc.)
• Basic understanding of software development and web applications
• Interest in cybersecurity and application security
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
• Preferred candidates will be entering Junior or Senior year status in Fall 2027

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework or experience in cybersecurity, software development, or networking
• Familiarity with common web application vulnerabilities
• Exposure to Git, scripting, or security tools through coursework, projects, or personal interests
