Job summary

Church Mutual is offering a 12-week Application Security Intern program designed to give hands-on experience supporting cybersecurity within the software development lifecycle. You will work with security professionals and developers to identify, assess, and reduce application security risks.

Responsibilities include assisting with assessments, vulnerability management, and remediation tracking, while researching threats and promoting secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, etc.).
• Basic understanding of software development and web applications.
• Interest in cybersecurity and application security.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
• Preferred candidates entering Junior or Senior year in Fall 2027.

Responsibilities

• Assist with application security assessments and vulnerability management activities.
• Support security testing and validation of applications using automated security tools.
• Help review and track remediation of application security findings.
• Research emerging application security threats and best practices.
• Collaborate with developers and IT teams to promote secure coding practices.
• Support security reporting, documentation, and process improvement initiatives.
