Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking students to participate in our internship program in Glen Allen, Virginia. This internship offers hands-on IT support experience within a real utility environment and exposure to customer-facing service.

You will handle complex inquiries, assist with triage documentation, and collaborate with IT infrastructure and support teams. Strong communication and a willingness to learn are essential, as is the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work within safety standards.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Cyber Security, CS, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA 2.5.
• Rising junior with anticipated graduation 2028 or later.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert and creative IT solutions to improve customer satisfaction and productivity.
• Research, resolve, and respond to complex questions via phone, tickets, or email.
• Support software as described in triage docs with Windows11 and Office 365 knowledge.

Job Summary

• Research, resolve, and respond to complex questions received via telephone calls, customer generated tickets or emails, and provide support on electronic services, in accordance with current standards
• The position provides support for software as described in triage documentation and has proficient knowledge of Windows11, and Office 365
• The position requires close coordination with all IT infrastructure and support teams

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

• Must have strong computer knowledge and skills with demonstrated ability to learn and utilize IT software programs
• Must have strong customer service and problem solving skills; coursework or experience in PC hardware functionality, desktop imaging , network monitoring tools, Microsoft Office project support preferred
• Proficient knowledge of Windows11, and Office 365
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills; be able to work independently and as a team

Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned work location and have reliable transportation

Education Requirements

• Must be currently pursuing a 4-year Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Students should be a rising junior and have an anticipated graduation date 2028 or later.

The hourly rate listed is the rate we anticipate paying for this position. If a range is listed, the actual hourly rate offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's degree type, academic major, and/or school classification (e.g., sophomore, junior, senior).
