Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support transmission and distribution projects within the System Protection Engineering group. You will collaborate with experienced engineers on relay protection, coordination, logic design, and operational performance tasks.

This internship offers a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office, 2 days telework) and an hourly rate of $27.00–$29.00. Applicants must be full-time students in an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering program

Qualifications

• Full-time student pursuing a 4-year ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree with expected graduation 2028 or 2029.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA, 3.3 preferred.

Job Summary

Dominion's System Protection Engineering department is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to support the Company's evolving transmission and distribution grids. Engineering interns will work with experienced team members to assist on transmission, distribution, or distributed generation projects or complete individual work assignments related to relay protection, coordination, logic design, and operational performance.

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Equally effective working independently or in a team environment
• Time management skills with the ability to independently plan and organize work assignments
• Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems
• Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices
• Programming skills for automation assignments preferred (e.g. VBA, Python, .NET, C#)

Education Requirements

Candidate must be a full-time student pursuing a 4-year Bachelor's degree majoring in Electrical Engineering from an ABET acredited program with a graduation date of 2028 or 2029. Must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher; a 3.3 cumulative GPA is strongly preferred.
