Job summary

Dominion Energy’s Security Solutions Team is seeking an Intern for Summer 2027 to support enterprise security applications, including case management, incident tracking, reporting, workflow automation, and data analytics solutions.

The intern will assist with the implementation, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise security applications, including case management, incident tracking, reporting, workflow automation, and data analytics solutions.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • SQL experience preferred but not required.
  • Self-starter; able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and multi-project focus.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI).
  • Interest in security operations, investigations, risk management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to gather requirements from technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with databases, data management, or data validation.
  • Strong research, documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be a full-time student at an accredited four-year college.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with administration, support, and enhancements of Kaseware and other security platforms.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Intelligence & Security personnel, IT teams, and business stakeholders to identify improvements.
  • Support user adoption efforts through documentation, training materials, job aids, and communications.
  • Assist in testing system updates, enhancements, integrations, and new functionality.
  • Support reporting, dashboard development, and data analysis efforts for operations.
  • Participate in projects involving workflow automation and process improvements.
  • Research and recommend innovative security solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Serve as a customer-facing representative for Security Solutions Team initiatives with stakeholders.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy’s Security Solutions Team is seeking an Intern for Summer 2027 to support the technology platforms and business processes that enable Corporate Intelligence & Security (CIS) operations. The intern will assist with the implementation, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise security applications, including case management, incident tracking, reporting, workflow automation, and data analytics solutions.

The position will play an active role in supporting Kaseware, Dominion Energy’s enterprise case management system, while also contributing to broader technology initiatives that enhance investigative, risk management, and security operations capabilities across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the administration, support, and enhancement of Kaseware and other security technology platforms.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Intelligence & Security personnel, IT teams, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for process and system improvements.
  • Support user adoption efforts through the development of documentation, training materials, job aids, and communications.
  • Assist in testing system updates, enhancements, integrations, and new functionality.
  • Support reporting, dashboard development, and data analysis efforts that help drive operational decision-making.
  • Participate in projects involving workflow automation, business process improvement, and technology implementation.
  • Research and recommend innovative solutions that improve efficiency, user experience, and security operations effectiveness.
  • Serve as a customer-facing representative for Security Solutions Team initiatives by communicating professionally with internal stakeholders, gathering business requirements, providing updates, addressing questions, and supporting positive user experiences with security technology solutions.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) preferred but not required.
  • Self-starter; able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI).
  • Interest in security operations, investigations, intelligence, risk management, or enterprise technology solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to gather requirements and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with databases, data management, or data validation concepts preferred.
  • Strong research, documentation, and technical writing skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university.

Education Requirements

Must be a student enrolled at a 4 year institution majoring in Data/Business Analytics, Information Systems, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, or a related field.

Must have an anticipated graduation date in 2028 (Spring or Fall)

Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

The hourly rate listed is the rate we anticipate paying for this position. If a range is listed, the actual hourly rate offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's degree type, academic major, and/or school classification (e.g., sophomore, junior, senior).
