Job summary

Delta Air Lines, Inc. is seeking a Design & Research Intern to support the creation of seamless, human-centered experiences across delta.com, the Fly Delta app, and internal digital tools.

You will work closely with UX/UI designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers to design, test, and refine customer-facing and employee-facing solutions. • Design & prototyping: create user flows, wireframes, visual mockups, and interactive prototypes.
• User research & testing: assist in planning and conducting research sessions and synthesize findings.
• Collaboration & delivery: partner with designers, researchers, PMs, content designers, testers and engineers; support design documentation.

As a Design & Research Intern, you will support the creation of seamless, human‑centered experiences across delta.com, the Fly Delta app, and internal digital tools.

During your internship, you will work closely with UX/UI designers, content designers, UX researchers, product managers, and engineers to design, test, and refine customer‑facing and employee‑facing solutions. You will participate in user research, contribute to design explorations, and help bring concepts to life through prototyping and documentation. This internship offers hands‑on experience within a dynamic digital product environment, providing exposure to design systems and end‑to‑end experience creation.

KEY SKILLS

WHAT YOU’LL DO (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)

Design & Prototyping

• Help create user flows, wireframes, visual mockups, and interactive prototypes
• Explore design options through iterative ideation
• Apply and contribute to Delta’s design system to ensure consistency

User Research & Testing

• Assist in planning, conducting, and synthesizing user research sessions
• Observe user behaviors, identify patterns, and uncover insights
• Support testing and translate findings into actionable recommendations

Collaboration & Delivery

• Partner with UX/UI designers, UX researchers, product managers, content designers, user acceptance testers, and engineers
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback
• Support design documentation, including user flows, specs, and presentations

Communication & Storytelling

• Present design concepts and research findings to team members and stakeholders
• Help develop clear, effective artifacts that communicate direction, intent, and status
