Additionally, it will provide exposure to real-world HES operations through opportunities to assist with the review and development of procedures, compliance documentation, training materials, regulatory research, data collection and analysis, and other departmental projects.

The role is designed to provide valuable professional experience and expand the Intern's knowledge of health, environmental, and safety programs and regulatory requirements.

  • Support the evaluation of environmental regulatory compliance requirements and questions related to the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and state equivalents, among others.
  • Analyze regulatory developments and emerging environmental policies and assess their potential impact on company operations.
  • Assist in the development and calculation of greenhouse gas emissions inventories, including Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions.

Emergency Response:
  • Assist with updating, verifying, and maintaining Emergency Response Plans (ERPs), callout lists, and related emergency preparedness documentation to ensure information remains current and accurate.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding ICs training documentation, certifications, and qualifications records to ensure completion of required training and compliance requirements.
