Job summary

Sunoco LP seeks an engineering intern in San Antonio to join our integrity team. You will work with integrity engineers, project engineers, technical services, and operations to understand and mitigate pipeline integrity risk, providing recommendations based on analysis findings for repairs and preventive measures.

The role requires good analytical skills, ability to perform calculations, diagnose problems, and communicate findings clearly.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering preferred).
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Self-motivated individual with a high level of initiative.
• Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously; adapt to changing business needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Process and analyze inline inspection (ILI) reports utilizing analysis software.
• Assess and diagnose pipeline integrity threats.
• Prepare appropriate repair recommendations.
• Lead Post ILI Review with management and operations personnel.
• Participate in Preventive and Mitigative (P&M) measure reviews.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and integrity program expectations.
• Support preparation for state and federal compliance audits.
• Assist in troubleshooting day-to-day issues and brainstorm potential solutions.
• Maintain documentation for ILI assessments including database updates and written summaries of analyses and conclusions.
• Assist field integrity engineers with dig program execution.
• Contribute to development of written policies and procedures related to Sunoco LP’s Integrity Management Program (IMP).
• Interface with multiple departments and communicate effectively with management, operations, engineering, and maintenance.

Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. Summary

The qualified candidate will work with integrity engineers, project engineers, technical services, and operations with the goal of understanding and mitigating pipeline integrity risk. This includes making recommendations based on analysis findings for repairs, inspection technologies, reassessment intervals and relevant preventive & mitigative (P&M) measures. The candidate is required to have good analytical skills, perform calculations, diagnose problems, and have superior communication and presentation skills. Additionally, the candidate will facilitate cooperation between different functional groups, be able to identify multiple alternatives for a given problem and facilitate the implementation of solutions.
