Job summary

Sunoco LP in Texas is seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Intern to support our capital projects team in the Midstream Oil & Gas sector. This twelve-week paid internship offers hands-on experience across the project life cycle and exposure to design, cost estimation, and material procurement.

The program begins May 2026. You must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an expected graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027, and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Qualifications

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from an engineering degree program.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings and data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with designs, performs cost estimation, and prepares/submits AFEs for capital and expense projects.
  • Supports specifications review and procures materials and equipment for timely execution of projects.
  • Provides technical support to pipeline departments to ensure safe, efficient installations.
  • Designs, specifies, and procures materials and equipment for projects.
  • Coordination support for project planning, execution, and closeout activities.
  • Performs cost tracking and status reporting for assigned projects.
  • Follows all safety rules and guidelines established by the company.

Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assists with designs, performs cost estimation, and prepares/submits \"Authorization for Expenditures\" (AFEs) for capital and expense projects. Evaluation, design, specification, and estimation of costs, for preparation and submittal of project AFEs, is a vital function for this position

  • Supports specifications review and procures materials and equipment for a timely and efficient execution of projects

  • Provides technical support to all pipeline departments that will result in safe, efficient and cost-effective installations

  • Designs, specifies, and procures materials and equipment for projects

  • Coordination support for project planning, execution, and closeout activities

  • Performs cost tracking and status reporting for assigned projects

  • Follows all safety rules and guidelines as established by the company


Required Skills:


  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher



  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from an engineering degree program

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings and data

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
