Consumers Energy is seeking Supply Chain Interns for 2027 opportunities. Interns will support procurement, logistics, and analytics within our Supply Chain team, gaining hands-on experience while learning from experienced professionals.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an associate or bachelor's in Supply Chain Management, with minimum GPA 3.0, strong Excel/PowerPoint skills, and excellent communication. This internship offers exposure to real-world projects and potential for future

Qualifications

  • Enrolled and actively pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in business Supply Chain Management as a student.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting procurement activities including data cleansing, data deep dives, metrics creation and maintenance, material contract bidding, negotiations and awards.
  • Supporting Supply Chain Operations within the Material Services/Logistics department.
  • Performing support functions and more complex tasks with prioritization, deadlines, and documentation.
  • Preparing reports and summaries under general direction for various company sources.
  • Participating as an active team member contributing to program development and planning.
  • Following safety rules and maintaining an organized workspace.

The Supply Chain Internship Program is geared toward current college students who have a passion for their major and an interest in Consumers Energy and the energy industry. The Internship Program at Consumers Energy has core principles of skill development, ability enhancement, and knowledge application - experience designed to be complimentary to traditional classroom instruction.

What you will do:

SupplyChainCooperativeAssistants(Interns)ofalllevelswillworkaspartofalargerteamtoprovidehands-on supportforvariousSupplyChainresponsibilitieswithinourbusiness.

Assignments could include the following:
  • Assistingwithprocurementactivities including datacleansing,data deepdives,metrics creationandmaintenance, materialcontractbidding,negotiationsandawards
  • SupportingSupplyChainOperationswithintheMaterialServices/Logisticsdepartment
  • Performingsupportfunctionsandmorecomplextasksincludingestablishingrelativeprioritiesofcurrentanticipatedworkload,organizingandconductingassignmentsaccordingtodeadlines,trackingofinformation,maintaininglogs/spreadsheets,andother similar support
  • Undergeneraldirection,the SupplyChainInternwillpreparespecialor one-timereports,summaries,orrepliestoinquiries,selectingrelevantinformationfromavarietyofsourcessuchasreports,documents,correspondence,otherareasofthecompany,etc.
  • Periodically,theselected Internmayevaluateprocess andprogram effectiveness andtakeaction to maintaincontinuousimprovement
  • TheSupplyChain Internwillparticipateasanactiveteam memberby contributingtoprogramdevelopmentand organization planning,perform responsibilities in a manner that clearly shows effective communication andcooperationandthatpromotesopenexchangeofinformation,respect,highethicalstandardsandprofessionalism
  • Internsareexpectedtofollowsallsafetyrulesandprocedures,andcontributetothesafetyofco-workersandthegeneral public,maintainaclean and organizedwork space,and perform taskssupportingMaterialServiceswithinmultiplebusinessoperationsareas,orsplittimeasneeded
