Job summary

CSX is seeking an Intermodal Service Employee (ISE) in Kentucky to safely perform securement, yard and lift operations, and clerical tasks supporting intermodal freight movements. You will work with hostlers, lift equipment, and inspect gear while adhering to safety and FRA/AAR regulations.

Minimum qualifications include 18+ years old and a valid driver’s license; preferred candidates have 1 year of heavy industrial and heavy machinery experience and 3 years outdoor work.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid Driver's License
• 1 year experience in heavy industrial environment
• 1 year experience operating heavy machinery
• 3 years outdoor work experience
• Ability to work nonstandard hours, overtime, and be on call
• Must pass background screening and post-offer medical examination including drug test
• CSX operates under a union agreement and membership is required

Responsibilities

• Securement tasks including inspection and securing of trailers, containers, and intermodal flatcars; assisting lift operators; operating IBC carts.
• Yard and Lift operations such as moving equipment with hostlers and lift machines; parking and repositioning chassis, trailers, and containers; inspection and readiness checks.
• Clerical duties such as using Microsoft Office and inputting information; awareness of hazmat requirements and response to minor spills.
• Other duties including comply with FRA and AAR regulations; work with team to meet productivity targets; identify defective components and take corrective action; perform end-of-train device inspections and airbrake tests; maintain securement devices.
