Job summary

NWU seeks an enrolled undergraduate or graduate student for a logistics internship in Lithia Springs, GA. You will assist with transportation services and gain exposure to basic transportation management principles.

You will participate in daily tasks including freight planning, safety, DOT compliance, driver payroll, and logistics analysis, while supporting maintenance and P&L activities.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in good standing.
• Able to work 20-25 hours per week during the school semester.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Willing to work flexible hours.
• Junior or Senior level preferred.
• Must have GED and High School diploma.
• This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Assist customers by providing transportation and logistics services under close supervision.
• Gain exposure to basic transportation management principles.
• Participate in daily operational tasks including freight planning, asset utilization, safety management, DOT compliance, driver payroll, Customer Value Delivery, logistics management and analysis, driver supervision, profit-and-loss management, and maintenance coordination.
• Understand industry trends and company initiatives related to driver retention.
• Perform account-specific duties as required by customers.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned.

About You

• Ability to work 20-25 hours per week during the school semester.

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting pay varies based on skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications.
