Job summary

Schneider National is seeking a Driver Instructor to train and mentor new drivers. You will coach in the classroom and in the truck, lead safety sessions and ensure drivers understand hours of service, trip-planning, policies and procedures.

This role requires CDL experience and the ability to teach Schneider’s guidelines. You’ll use our tablet and workflow system, provide feedback, and support driver retention and career development.

Qualifications

• Previous instructor or training experience preferred.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
• Demonstrates a positive, professional attitude.
• Able to learn, demonstrate and train Schneider’s company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers.
• Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck.
• Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures.
• Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.
• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider’s guidelines and materials.
• Show drivers how to use Schneider’s electronic tablets and workflow system.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.
