Job summary

Schneider National is seeking a Driver Instructor to train and onboard new CDL drivers at our Mesquite, TX area operation. This role emphasizes hands-on classroom and in-vehicle instruction, safety compliance, trip planning, and use of Schneider’s tablet/workflow system.

You will mentor drivers and help them grow into highly capable professionals within our safety‑driven organization. You will lead engaging training sessions, assess progress, and provide feedback to improve performance.

Qualifications

• Previous instructor or training experience preferred.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
• Demonstrates a positive, professional attitude.
• Able to learn, demonstrate and train Schneider’s company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers.
• Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck.
• Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures.
• Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.
• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider’s guidelines and materials.
• Show drivers how to use Schneider’s electronic tablets and workflow system.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.
