The role requires familiarity with Port Houston operations, TMS or dispatch software, and strong organizational skills. You will oversee daily dispatch activities, track shipments, and ensure timely freight movement while maintaining open communication with drivers and customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in intermodal trucking dispatch or container transportation.
• Familiar with Port Houston operations and terminal appointment procedures.
• Knowledge of container logistics, chassis management, and drayage operations.
• Experience with dispatch software or TMS.
• Strong organizational, multitasking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and dispatch CDL Class A drivers for local and regional container transport.
• Schedule container pickups and deliveries at Port Houston terminals.
• Monitor container availability, chassis assignments, and empty returns.
• Coordinate port appointments, equipment releases, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain communication with drivers, customers, and terminal personnel.
• Track shipments and provide timely delivery updates.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts and delays.
• Maintain dispatch records and daily reports.
• Support efficient fleet utilization and freight movement.
