Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking aspiring solderers to join our production team to assemble and inspect PCBs and PCBAs. You will solder SMT and through-hole components, perform rework and repairs, and adhere to IPC standards under the guidance of leads and supervisors.

This first shift role runs from 5:00am to 2:30pm with overtime encouraged. A strong eye for detail, hand-soldering skills, and the ability to work at a microscope are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years electronics assembly and in-process soldering experience.
  • Experience hand soldering.
  • Knowledge of ESD procedures.
  • Must pass onsite soldering assessment to J-STD-001.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work extended hours with a microscope for inspection.

Responsibilities

  • Use soldering irons to attach SMT and Through Hole components.
  • Interpret routers, wiring diagrams, and schematics for assembly.
  • Perform inspections to IPC standards.
  • Perform pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts.
  • Modify, solder, rework, repair assemblies per specs.
  • Other duties as assigned by Lead or Supervisor.

Job description

Mercury Systems is looking for aspiring solderers to help complete a variety of tasks relating to production operations on PCBs and PCBAs. To be successful, you will need to demonstrate skill with soldering SMT and through hole components, rework and repair of boards.

*This is a 1st shift opportunity, daily hours will be from 5:00am to 2:30pm and overtime is available and encouraged.*
Job Responsibilities:
  • Use soldering irons to attach electronic components with SMT and Thru hole technologies.
  • Interpreting job routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics
  • Performing a variety of inspections to ensure assemblies meet/exceed IPC standards
  • Performing pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts
  • Modifying, soldering, reworking, repairing assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications, drawings, and work instructions
  • Other duties as assigned by Lead or Supervisor
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Typically requires 3+ years of electronics assembly and inspection experience with in-process soldering (both through hole and surface mount)
  • Experience Hand soldering.
  • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures
  • Will require an onsite soldering assessment to J-STD-001 standards during the interview
  • Must have meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Must be able to work for extended hours utilizing a microscope to perform inspection and solder touch-ups
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Rework/repair, wire attach, and mechanical assembly
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
  • IPC-610, J-STD-001 and 7711/7721 certification preferred
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to meet production and customer needs
