Job summary

Mercury Systems is looking for a dedicated solderer to support production on PCBs and PCBAs. You will demonstrate skill with hand soldering SMT and through-hole components, rework and repair of boards, and interpret routers, wiring diagrams and schematics for accurate assembly.

This is a 1st shift position in Phoenix, AZ, with hours from 5:00am to 2:30pm and overtime encouraged. Mercury offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, tuition reimbursement, stock purchase

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years electronics assembly with in-process soldering (SMT and through-hole).
  • Must work extended hours using a microscope for inspection and touch-ups.

Responsibilities

  • Use soldering irons to attach SMT and through-hole components.
  • Interpret routers, wiring diagrams and schematics for assembly.
  • Perform inspections to ensure IPC-compliant quality.
  • Pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts and rework as needed.

Job Description

Mercury Systems is looking for aspiring solderers to help complete a variety of tasks relating to production operations on PCBs and PCBAs. To be successful, you will need to demonstrate skill with soldering SMT and through hole components, rework and repair of boards.

This is a 1 st shift opportunity, daily hours will be from 5:00am to 2:30pm and overtime is available and encouraged

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use soldering irons to attach electronic components with SMT and Thru hole technologies.
  • Interpreting job routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics
  • Performing a variety of inspections to ensure assemblies meet/exceed IPC standards
  • Performing pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts
  • Modifying, soldering, reworking, repairing assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications, drawings, and work instructions
  • Other duties asassigned by Lead or Supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Typically requires 3+ years of electronics assembly and inspection experience with in-process soldering (both through hole and surface mount)
  • Must be able to work for extended hours utilizing a microscope to perform inspection and solder touch-ups
  • Hand soldering experience is required
  • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures'
  • Will require an onsite soldering assessment to J-STD-001 standards during the interview

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Rework/repair, wire attach, and mechanical assembly
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
  • IPC-610, J-STD-001 and 7711/7721 certification
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to meet production and customer needs

Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position

  • $38,300.00 - $76,600.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
  • $42,900.00 - $85,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
  • $45,200.00 - $90,400.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ
