Job summary

Cortland in Arlington, VA is seeking an Interiors Manager to support the Project Manager by overseeing day-to-day interior construction for renovations and new multifamily builds. You’ll act as on-site representative, ensuring safety, schedule, budget and quality while coordinating with vendors and contractors.

Responsibilities include developing schedules, tracking progress against budgets, conducting diligence walks, estimating repair costs, inspecting work, and helping select and procure

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction, preferably within multifamily or residential renovation projects.
• Experience leading construction crews and driving work to completion.
• Working knowledge of construction equipment, materials, and sequencing.
• Proven project coordination skills across multiple stages of construction and renovation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cost-tracking skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Proficiencyin Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Project).

Responsibilities

• Act as theon-sitepoint of contact, reporting to the Project Manager and ensuring smooth daily construction operations.
• Coordinate and execute multifamily unit renovations; hospitality renovation experience is a plus.
• Support capital projects including exterior repairs, amenities, MEP upgrades, andcommon areas.
• Track, organize, andmaintainon-siteconstruction materials and inventory to avoid delays.
• Ensure work aligns with accepted building practices, applicable codes, and market pricing.
• Assistwith developing andmaintainingproject schedules, construction meetings, RFIs, andchangeorders.
• Monitor construction progress against approved budgets and timelines, escalating risks as needed.
• Update and maintain internal construction trackerson a daily basis.
• Participate in diligence walks, assess property conditions,mark upsite plans, and help estimate repair and renovation costs.
• Assistwith procuring construction services and supporting vendor selection.
• Coordinate and inspect contractor work, ensuring quality, safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
• Identifyopportunities to complete work more safely,cost ‑ effectively, or within existing contract scope.
