Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Platteville is seeking an Administrative Specialist – Interiors to join our Facilities Management team. The role focuses on managing interiors renovations and campus design projects, coordinating with internal customers, vendors, and budgets.

Some manual labor such as paint touches and furniture moves may be required. The position is full-time with benefits, starting pay around $50,000, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Business Administration or related field.
  • 1–3 years of administrative support experience.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in design/project software (AutoCAD, Revit) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities related to design projects, including sourcing and purchasing materials and finishes.
  • Support project coordination efforts by independently managing assigned design responsibilities.
  • Assist in evaluating spatial requirements, assembling and arranging furniture.
  • Assist in coordinating renovation and refurbishment projects from concept through implementation, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Assist in reviewing projects for affordability, consistency and completeness of design in conformity with plans and specifications.
  • Research, develop, and format project plans to ensure quality, functionality, and sustainability.
