Job summary

Morris Adjmi Architects is seeking an Interior Designer II / Interior Architect II to join the Interiors team in New York. The role blends design creativity with technical execution across a diverse project portfolio, from concept to construction administration.

Working with senior leadership, you will coordinate with consultants, vendors, and project documentation, mentor junior designers, and contribute to a collaborative studio environment. Licensed interior architects are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
• 6+ years of professional interior design experience.
• Architecture license required for candidates applying as an Interior Architect II.
• NCIDQ, AIA, LEED, or other professional accreditation preferred.
• Strong understanding of all project phases, including construction documentation and coordination.
• Working knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and BIM workflows.
• Experience coordinating consultants, vendors, and contractors.
• Exceptional organization, communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of interior design projects, from conceptual design through construction administration.
• Develop design concepts, space planning solutions, material palettes, and FF&E selections.
• Prepare client presentations, renderings, finish boards, and presentation materials.
• Produce and coordinate design development and construction documentation with increasing independence.
• Develop finish, fixture, appliance, plumbing fixture, and door hardware schedules.
• Coordinate drawings with architecture, engineering consultants, vendors, and manufacturers.
• Manage BIM coordination with project consultants.
• Assist in preparing project specifications and reviewing consultant documentation.
• Review drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance with MA presentation standards.
• Participate in client meetings, consultant coordination meetings, and internal project reviews.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, shop drawing reviews, punch lists, and other construction administration activities.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers while contributing to a collaborative studio environment.
