Job summary

CannonDesign in Buffalo, NY is hiring an Interior Designer with a design/technical focus to join our multi-disciplinary team. You will work under project leadership across all phases, contributing to planning, 3D studies, drawings, and FF&E coordination.

You will collaborate with senior designers and project managers, mentoring junior staff and promoting design quality while adhering to CannonDesign standards. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field.
• Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
• Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
• Ability to participate in development of projects’ technical or design characteristics.
• Strong portfolio and communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Interior Designer and/or Project Manager across all project phases.
• Assist in development of design including planning and 3D studies.
• Independently assist in design development and documentation of interior spaces (drawings, elevations, details).
• Support in furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) selection and specifications.
• Produce drawings that meet time, cost and quality constraints.
• Identify and apply building and life safety codes to interior design work.
• Prepare renderings and presentation materials.
• Follow CannonDesign drawing standards.
• Attend client meetings to gain interaction and presentation experience.
• Participate in construction administration (site visits, submittals, punch lists).
• Mentor junior interior design staff and guide project documents.
• Actively promote design quality and proper material application.
