Job summary

Brigham Young University is seeking an Interior Designer to provide design and planning services for BYU facilities, creating welcoming spaces that support the university’s mission. Depending on experience, you may serve as Owner’s Representative on new construction and major renovations, collaborating with architects and design consultants.

You will meet with clients, develop plans, and prepare documentation while ensuring codes and standards.

Qualifications

  • Firm commitment to the BYU mission.
  • 4 years interior design experience or a related degree.
  • Working knowledge of construction documents.
  • Knowledge of finishes and furnishings specifications.
  • Experience with space planning and project coordination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients and consultants to determine space and design needs.
  • Develop preliminary plans and working drawings.
  • Prepare cost estimates and project documentation.
  • Review specifications and shop drawings for compliance.
  • Assist in project inspections and punch lists.
  • Monitor budgets and efficient use of space.
