Job summary

Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, UT, seeks an Electrical Engineer II to design campus electrical systems, including lighting, power, and fire/security interfaces. You will coordinate with departments, architects, and contractors through planning, design, and construction phases, being on-site for every project.

Ideal candidates have broad construction experience, NEC/ADA/IES knowledge, CAD/REVIT skills, and extensive lighting design.

Broad experience in construction methods and procedures.
In-depth comprehension of NEC, ADA applicability affecting facility planning and IES illumination standards.
Ability to work with a variety of individuals in a coordinating function.
Experience in electrical design with CAD and REVIT skills.

Responsibilities

Translate needs into working design documents.
Coordinates and designs electrical components of projects.
Design electrical engineering plans for small and complex projects with emphasis on interior lighting.
Supports coordination team to outline plans.
Complete cost estimates for required projects.
Inspect electrical installations and ensure NEC conformance.
Maintain CNA database for equipment and systems.
Coordinate project details with campus departments, contractors, architects, engineers, and owners.
Review and stamp electrical engineering designs.
