Job summary

The Crowd, a leading international design studio, is seeking an Interior Design Project Manager to join its New York team. You will oversee design-led projects from planning through construction, coordinating with clients, architects, and consultants to ensure delivery on time and within budget.

You will manage schedules, budgets, approvals, and construction documentation, mentor junior staff, and travel internationally as needed to advance high-profile projects across global markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience within an interior design, architecture, hospitality, or similarly design-focused environment.
• Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and fabricators throughout project delivery.
• Strong understanding of project budgets, fees, billing, forecasting, and financial management.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently manage multiple stakeholders, priorities, and deadlines within a fast-paced studio environment.
• Proficiency in Excel and project management/scheduling platforms; proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit.

Responsibilities

• Manage interior design projects from planning and design development through construction administration and completion, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within scope
• Develop and maintain project schedules, workplans, milestones, budgets, and resource plans in collaboration with senior design and project leadership
• Partner with senior teams on project handovers, scope development, staffing, scheduling, and overall project planning
• Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and seamless project delivery
• Oversee project financials, including fee tracking, billing, forecasting, budgets, and project profitability
• Manage scope changes, additional services, change orders, and value engineering while maintaining the overall design intent
• Coordinate RFIs, shop drawings, samples, submittals, and construction documentation, ensuring deliverables are reviewed and issued accurately
• Review drawings and project documentation for coordination, QA/QC, constructability, and potential issues at key project milestones
• Attend site visits, construction meetings, mock-ups, factory visits, and installations, including international travel as required
• Support team development through resource planning, hiring, mentorship, and collaboration with junior staff

They are seeking an Interior Design Project Manager to join its New York team where you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the industry’s most talented designers on ambitious, design-led projects for an impressive portfolio of international clients.

The role will play a central role in overseeing the successful delivery of complex, design-driven projects from initial planning through construction and completion. Working closely with the senior leadership team and wider stakeholders you will take ownership of project schedules, budgets, financials, documentation, and day to day coordination while helping ensure projects remain aligned with both commercial objectives and the overall design vision.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently manage multiple stakeholders, priorities, and deadlines within a fast-paced studio environment
