Job description

Charles & Co Design is a high-end interior design firm (AD100) working on bespoke residential and hospitality interiors for extremely private HNW clients around the globe. We are currently seeking an experienced and exceptional Interior Architectural Designer to work on multiple residential and hospitality projects within the US. This position will report to our Senior Interior Architect and support our interior design teams.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4+ years working within the luxury market and be responsible for preparing design documents including but not limited to custom furniture, detailed plans, elevations and detailed millwork sections for construction with strong AutoCAD skills and a working knowledge of Revit. This is a hybrid position, suited to someone who can easily work in our New York office as well as from home.

Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 - commensurate with experience

  1. Produce detailed furniture layouts.
  2. Experienced at sourcing high end finishes. Knowledge of NYC vendors is essential.
  3. Collaborate with the in-house project team to develop the design and maintain design integrity during Schematic Design and Design Development phases.
  4. Generate and coordinate detailed Schematic Design presentation including 2D renderings using Photoshop or other tools.
  5. Experienced in coordinating and producing a Design Development document set that includes detailed plans, elevations and detailed millwork sections using AutoCAD.
  6. Preparing interior schedules, including plumbing, hardware & finish schedules.
  7. Produce client presentations using Adobe InDesign.
  8. Participate in weekly project coordination calls with external project teams.
  9. Answer RFI’s during projects construction and bidding phase.
  10. Communicating and coordinating closely with external consultants: contractors, lighting designers, landscape designers and local architects.
  11. Attend client and site meetings with project design team.
REQUIRED AND DESIRED SKILLS
  1. 4+ years of architectural-related experience with an advanced residential and hospitality portfolio.
  2. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  3. Highly proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe InDesign, SketchUp/Photoshop or knowledge of any rendering software.
  4. Proficiency in BIM software, Procore.
  5. Must be a team player and can work in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Must have legal rights to work in the USA and be able to start immediately.
  7. Strong communication skills and be able to problem solve under pressure.
