Job Description:

Roman and Williams seeks an Intermediate Architectural Designer with 2-5 years of professional experience to join our Residential team. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and possess both technical skills and creative thinking. Effective communication with team members and clients, both verbally and in writing, is essential. The candidate will be involved in all design and construction phases, working at various scales, and must adhere to schedules and deliverables as agreed upon with clients and collaborators.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Contribute to and manage complex project coordination, development, and production from concept through construction and handover.
Assist and guide team members across all project phases.
Manage multiple projects concurrently.
Maintain strong client-facing skills.
Produce construction documentation, including detailed design work, with proficiency in traditional architectural vocabulary and building fundamentals.
Coordinate with vendors and extensive consultant teams, including MEP, structural, lighting, and landscape designers.
Present ideas clearly, both internally and externally.
Ensure effective internal communication and collaboration with consultants.
Develop design concepts and presentation materials.
Create and review architectural drawings and details.
Research materials and develop architectural schedules and specifications.
Review work of junior/intermediate designers before VP review.
Coordinate daily project activities with consultants and vendors.
Manage RFIs, submittals, and external correspondence to track project progress.

Qualifications and Skills:

2-5 years of professional architectural experience.
Experience in residential projects is a plus.
Knowledge of construction methods.
Ability to produce technical documentation (DD, CD/IDD).
Proficiency in AutoCAD & SketchUp; experience with Rhino and Revit is a plus.
Strong graphic and presentation skills.
Hand drawing and rendering skills are advantageous.
