Job summary

Milestone Retirement Communities is seeking a full-time Cook to join our culinary team. Under the Director of Culinary Services, you will prepare and serve meals that meet nutritional and safety standards, while supporting dining operations and resident satisfaction.

This is a temporary interim position with anticipated duration of 6 to 12 months. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety in the kitchen, and compassionate service to older adults.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum one year of food service experience; three years preferred.
• Food Handler's Permit and First Aid certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure food is safely stored, cooked, and served at proper temperatures.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment and equipment.
• Assist in training and mentoring culinary staff.
• Monitor resident preferences and satisfaction.
• Uphold safety and health standards, including food safety compliance.
• Foster teamwork and a positive work environment.
• Report any elder maltreatment or abuse as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
