Job summary

Milestone Retirement Communities is hiring a full-time Cook on a temporary interim basis for 6 to 12 months. Under the direction of the Director of Culinary Services, the Cook prepares and serves meals that meet nutritional and safety standards while ensuring resident satisfaction.

This role supports culinary operations and dining services in a safe, clean environment. Compensation is $20-$22 per hour, with full-time medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer match, generous PTO, pet

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year food service experience; three years preferred.
• Food Handler's Permit as required by state.
• First Aid certification required; 18+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure food is safely stored, cooked, and served at proper temperatures.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment, including all equipment and prep areas.
• Assist in training and mentoring culinary staff.
• Monitor and respond to resident preferences and satisfaction.
• Uphold safety and health standards, including food safety compliance.
• Foster teamwork and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Report any elder maltreatment or abuse as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
