Milestone Lighthouse Memory Care in Mesa, AZ is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our kitchen team on a full-time, temporary basis (6 to 12 months). Under the Director of Culinary Services, you’ll prepare meals that meet nutritional and safety standards and support dining services for residents.

You’ll ensure proper food handling, maintain a clean kitchen, and assist in mentoring culinary staff while responding to resident preferences and ensuring satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of food service experience.
• Three years of experience preferred.
• Food Handler’s Permit as required by state.
• First Aid certification required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Compassion for and desire to work with older adults.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure food is safely stored, cooked, and served at proper temperatures.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment, including all equipment and prep areas.
• Assist in training and mentoring culinary staff.
• Monitor and respond to resident preferences and satisfaction.
• Uphold safety and health standards, including food safety compliance.
• Foster teamwork and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Report any elder maltreatment or abuse as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About the Role
